According to the chairman of the House International Relations Committee, Republican Michael McCaul, Speaker Mike Johnson plans to put the aid package for Ukraine to a vote after Easter. He disclosed this information in an interview with CBS.
“He is committed to bringing this to a vote after Easter, and we are working on this bill,” McCaul said.
This year, Easter will be celebrated in the United States on March 31.

Michael McCaul noted that Speaker Mike Johnson is facing a difficult situation regarding aid to Ukraine, as some Republican congressmen intend to remove him from office.

McCaul emphasized that refusing to help Ukraine could deprive the United States of strategic positions.
“If we lose in Ukraine, as we did in Afghanistan, it will be a victory for Putin, allowing him to annex Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, just as we did in Afghanistan. Will this make the United States stronger or weaker? I think weaker,” he emphasized.
Earlier, Marjorie Taylor Green, an active supporter of the 45th US President Donald Trump and a member of the Republican Party, filed a motion to remove Mike Johnson from the post of Speaker of the House of Representatives.
