Businessman Maksym Krippa invests $100 million in real estate in Ukraine, supporting the national economy in the face of challenges and instability. Despite the outflow of capital after the outbreak of a full-scale war, the businessman not only continues to work, but also focuses on developing strategically important projects. Over the past two years, his investments have covered a number of key areas, including real estate, esports, and the gaming industry.
In his interview with Forbes, Maksym Krippa spoke in detail about his investments and vision for the development of these industries.
Real estate investments
One of Krippa’s most significant acquisitions was the Parus business center in Kyiv. The building, which had been waiting for a new owner for a long time, was acquired in 2023 on favorable terms. Currently, more than 90% of its office space is leased, which is significantly higher than the average office occupancy rate in the capital of 70-75%.
Parus is not only a profitable investment but also a symbol of faith in the city’s future. According to Krippa, he is interested in unique properties with irreplaceable locations. This deal also included financial obligations, including the repayment of a UAH 600 million loan.
Another important project was the Ukraine Hotel, purchased at a Prozorro open auction for UAH 2.51 billion. After a large-scale renovation, Krippa predicts that the value of the property will increase by two to three times, making the hotel one of the most attractive assets in the center of the capital.
Development of the gaming industry and esports
Maksym Krippa is not only a real estate investor but also one of the key players in the development of the gaming industry. In 2020, he became the main investor in GSC Game World, and in 2023, he fully bought out the company. The main project of the studio was the long-awaited shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, which paid off just a month after its release.
Krippa’s personal investment in the game’s development amounted to tens of millions of dollars. There are 470 specialists working on the shooter, 270 of whom remain in Ukraine despite all the difficulties. The businessman is also looking to sign a deal with Netflix to create a series based on the game, which will be a new step in popularizing the Ukrainian gaming industry.
Other projects and prospects
Other important acquisitions of Krippa include an elite estate in Kozyn worth UAH 311.11 million that could become the headquarters for the NAVI esports club. This deal not only strengthens the club’s position but also creates additional opportunities for the development of esports in Ukraine.
Maksym Krippa emphasizes that all his investments were made transparently and comply with the law. The funds were transferred through official channels from foreign accounts and have been inspected by the NBU, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the Foreign Intelligence Service.
His activities demonstrate his faith in Ukraine’s economic potential. Such investments not only create new jobs, but also lay the foundation for future growth in key industries.
