SBU officers detained a Ukrainian high-ranking official in Kyiv who was engaged in open financing of the Russian army. He was the director of the Information Systems Support Department of one of the largest banks in the country.
The official website of the Security Service of Ukraine reported on the resonant event.
Donations to the enemy army since the beginning of the war
Based on the information on the SBU website, it is clear that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the defendant in the case has regularly transferred his own funds to the needs of the Russian army.
To do this, he opened an account on one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges and used this platform to transfer funds to the digital wallets of the racists. The offender received information about who needed the money most in the relevant Telegram channels.
As of today, all the donations of the “banker” have been documented, and he has been detained at his place of residence in Kyiv.
It is also reported that during the search, a Russian passport, cash in rubles, and electronic equipment (phones and a computer) with evidence of crimes were seized from the “supporter of the Russian army.”
The detainee is currently being held without bail. If the man’s crime is proven, he faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Earlier, it was reported that the National Police had identified the Russian officer who gave the order to shoot people in Bucha.
