Esports in Ukraine is under new leadership: Maksym Krippa is now the President of UESF

The leadership of the Ukrainian Federation of Esports has undergone changes: entrepreneur and investor Maksym Krippa has taken the presidency. From now on, he is responsible for the development of esports, which is going through difficult times but does not lose its potential for growth.

Krippa is not a newcomer to this field. He owns the legendary NAVI team, known far beyond Ukraine, the Maincast broadcast studio, and the developer of the cult game S.T.A.L.K.E.R., GSC Game World. His influence on the esports ecosystem is hard to overestimate.

The appointment took place against the backdrop of the challenges facing the industry today. While the Ukrainian esports market was estimated at $20-30 million before the outbreak of 2022, it is now under significant pressure. However, the new president of the Federation sees this as a chance for transformation and recovery.

Krippa confirmed the news of his new appointment in a commentary for Forbes Ukraine.

UESF is moving to a new stage: Federation forms a renewed team

The Ukrainian Federation of Esports is preparing to officially announce personnel changes in its top management. According to the available information, the new position of the executive director is likely to be taken by a professional with considerable experience in organizing esports tournaments at the country’s leading club.

The new management team is expected to include reputable professionals who have already proven themselves in key roles in the Ukrainian esports ecosystem. These are people who have managed operational processes, shaped brand development strategies, created in-depth analytical content, and trained teams.

Thanks to a wide range of experience – from building long-term strategies to direct interaction with players and fans – the new team has the potential to set a new pace for the Federation’s development. The involvement of specialists with real-world experience and a deep understanding of the industry promises to reset the UESF’s approach to work and strengthen its position at the national and international levels.

Rethinking the role of UESF: new priorities and vision of Maksym Krippa

With the arrival of Maksym Krippa as the President of the Ukrainian Federation of Esports, the organization’s development vectors are expected to be significantly updated. The focus is on expanding international relations, integrating global players into the national ecosystem, and creating modern innovation hubs that should become an environment for the growth of young talents and the introduction of the latest technologies.

Given Krippa’s background in IT, including his experience with Maincast, we can assume that the emphasis on technological solutions will be one of the key components of the new UESF course.

However, as Krippa himself notes, the Federation’s overall development strategy is still being worked out. Although final decisions on investments have not yet been made, a number of areas have already been identified that should be implemented in the near future.

The main goals include establishing systematic communication with the community, expanding the list of disciplines within the UESF, and developing youth esports at the school and university level. Special attention is planned to be paid to launching social initiatives where video games will be considered as a tool for veterans’ adaptation.

Another important step will be to build an open and transparent system of national championships. The goal is to ensure fair and transparent selection of the Ukrainian national team that will represent the country in the international arena.
